2-week to 1-month long hiatus
UPDATE: I had to doctor the date on this post to keep it on top. But there is news to share here (Mazisi Kunene) and here (Stevie Wonder).
I've got to disappear for a bit. Some stuff needs to be sorted out. I'll be reading y'all, though, and probably commenting as well. I'll be back soon. If a poem ignores my hiatus, however, I will write it down and place it here asap. In the meantime, I encourage you to enjoy Canopic Jar, and to consider submitting there. Cheers.
Plea
Whether hell or nirvana has been found
after the broken contract, not more else matters.
All is finished and complete
as the light disappears into the ground.
Listen, but let this be my only plea,
I hold a secret in this force that grips me in triumph
as well as in defeat.
Strike me with your weapon now—I am free.
Break the fabric of my soul apart, O enemy,
till your apocalypse comes down
like thunder on a mountain top.
Your thousand blows will not possess my heart,
but all around the people will agree
that I have come to terms with destiny.

Will miss your posts. I haven't been commenting much lately. The poeom a day last month took full attention. Sometimes breaks are needed. Good that you see that and are taking it. Take care.
The tone of this poem has me worried.
I will miss the posts. Take care of yourself, my friend.
Jone, that poem-a-day thing took it out of most people. I stayed away because I knew I didn't have enough petrol for it.
Geoffrey, No worries at all. I've got to see to a few things, that's all. Thank you, and see you later.
hey nicee
come back soon
You will be missed. Best wished for whatever you have to do.
What a great poem to post before you go for a hiatus.
I'll miss reading your poems! Hope that you are back soon. I am going to be posting a poem soon that I wrote in the middle of the night, in my blackened room, while my boyfriend slept next to me.... he was kinda the inspiration. Take care!
This is deep and moving. It makes me very curious as I relate very much to the tone. Recently, I have broken free from something powerful, and I'm starting to feel good about it. That's the wonderful side... You'll be missed, but enjoy the time away...
No, no, no- I come back and you go!
Have a good rest from the keys.
More sooner or later-
See you soon brother. Take care. By the way, we have a friend whose mother will be visiting from Lesotho this coming weekend. Makala hasn't seen her mother in 5 years. We will all get together to break bread and meet mother. It should be nice. Khotso~
Disturbing Ret and but really speaks to me. Sometimes it takes harsh and dramatic expression to help work out our personal matters. Much success as you take your break
Come back soon ... you will be missed.
I will miss your voice - it's such a resonant, powerful and important voice. Don't stay away too long.
Happy Hiatus. Be well and you will be missed, but the time will make the return ever more enjoyable.

I've only just come visiting here ... following up the lovely comment you left on my blog ... and here you are going off! There are some great, powerful poems here and lots of tips on writers to check out. Wow. I'll be back. Funny that Chiefbiscuit in NZ was our link. I'd like to exchange links, if that's OK. :) I look forward to browsing here now.
