If I could
I'd like to talk about
Riding on your back
Through Sotho-speaking
Mountains in the snow,
Lost naked
In an overwhelming sky.
We'd talk about
How nice today has been,
How still you could learn
Life from me,
From my tribe.
But how can we now,
With all this blood?

You share such great works.
So relevant question at the end..
Thank you for John. I kind of liked the reality of that question, too.
@Sokari, Hey You've been MIA on AL. Hope you're ok? :)
Ugo,
Come again?
naked truth ... bleeding..
Thank you for sharing such a powerful and highly relevant poem. I enjoy poetry (or any other text, really) that makes the reader question and think.
First time visitor - I will be back.

Smashing poem...
and what a fine tribute to this wonderful poet.. this poem where he wants nothing more than peace,, for life to be as it once was... beautiful....
...that last line, ouch!
"But how can we now,
With all this blood?"
It just pretty much sums up the whole of the mess that faces anyone, when they attempt even with just a desire, change.
Thanks for sharing this one.
Poetman
A very meaningful line to me, too, Poetman. I guess the poet wrote it so.
